962. Thomas , Jr. ABBOT

Farmer
Useful in the town, guardian of orphans, observer of events and recorded them in his almanac
Respected for his piety and worth
Succeeded his Father on the homestead


964. Zebediah ABBOTT

He was a yeoman and lived in Andover. He received from his father a deed of the homestead, 1747, in consideration of a bond for lb. 1,000, and was the only one of the sons to remain in Andover.
His will dated Apr. 21, 1767, was probated Oct. 5, 1767. He had a goodly estate. After providing for his wife and charging his eldest son Nehemiah with her support, his bequests were as follows: To son Nehemiah, his exr., all his land and buildings in Andover, "except a Tract of Land lying between William Clark's & Tewksbury Line," all his live-stock, husbandry tools, "cider Barrels and Dry Casks," bonds and notes, cash, two-thirds of his church pew, a "Negro Man named Caesar," half of his wearing apparel and half of his books; to son Zebadiah all his land in Andover between the land of William Clark and Tewksbury line, a third part of his church pew, half of his books and wearing apparel, and 30s., which, with œ327: 14s.: 8d., already given him, was his portion of the estate; to daughter Sarah Ballard, œ25: 13s.: 4d., which with what he had already given her, was her share; to daughter  Chloe, œ29: 11s.: 4d., which, with what he had already given her, was her share; to grand-sons Isaac and Abraham, sons of daughter Lydia "Mooar," decd., œ41: 1s.: 6d. each, when of age, which, with what their mother had received at and after her marriage, was their share. In case either should die without issue his brother was to have his share, and if both should die without issue their shares were to be divided among the testator's children.
Zebadiah was chosen field-driver, 1731/2; tithingman, 1736/7, 1740/1, 1743/4, 1745/6, 1750; highway surveyor, 1737/8, and selectman, 1739/40, 1752-3.


966. Hezekiah BALLARD

Hezekiah was a Deacon in the South Church in Andover and an Inkeeper in Revolutionary times.
His will mentions his entire family. He made his Grandson, Zebediah Abbot , executor. His estate was $1,562.94.


970. Edward HALL

Edward Hall came to Croydon, New Hampshire, before 1774 with a family of 10 children and his niece, Elizabeth Hall. He lived near his Father's farm  and kept a tavern. He was a Lieutenant in the Colonial service, commissioned by the crown, was a royalist by principle, and was highly esteemed. He was a selectman in 1784, 85 and 86, also constable, collector, and moderator. Children were all born in Uxbridge, and four sons served in the Continental Army.


990. James PRESCOTT

From DAR Patriot Index, p. 2365, part 3: James Prescott, b. December 15, 1733, #35715, Captin James Prescott (son of Ebenezer and Abigail (Tilton) Prescott, b. 12/5/1733; married Mary, daughter of Samuel Lane and sister of Abigail, who married Deacon James Prescott. She was born December 6, 1734. He lived and died in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire; was many years a selectman and moderator; Captain in the Militia and a Lieutenant in the Revolutionary Army. He ided February 17, 1813.
