Descendants of Edmond TILSON

Notes

James , Jr. COLE

(Cole's History says: They were married at Scituate; moved to York, Maine; returned to Plymouth; he was surveyor of highways in 1656. In 1657 his taxes were remitted.) Next to the Baptist Church on Leyden street, Plymouth, Massachusetts, where the house formerly owned by Ephraim T. Paty now stands, is the site of the tavern of James Cole, Sr. He kept tavern from 1638 to 1660. It is probable that James Cole, Jr., continued to keep the house, as Judge Samuel Sewell in his diary, 1697, says: "I lodge at Cole's. Also March 8, 1698, while attending court at Plymouth."

4. Ephraim TILSON

There is no record of the births of Ephraim's children. The will of John Tilson, 1673, gives his property to his brother Ephraim's oldest son, Edmond. So we may conclude that Ephraim and John were born previous to that date, and Edmund may have been born in 1667.

19. John TILSON

The will of John Tilson, 1673, gives his property to his brother Ephraim's oldest son, Edmond. So we may conclude that Ephraim and John were born previous to that date, and Edmund may have been born in 1667.
