APPENDIX.
Know all men by these presents that wee Samuel Tilson & Stephen
Tilson, both of the Town of Plimpton, in the County of Plimouth, in
New England, both joint partners in the lands and meadows given
unto us by our honoured father, Edmond Tilson of Plimpton, afores'd,
that is to say his homestead land on which he now dwells, and also
his meadow lying in the meadows called Mahutchet meadows, and also
his meadow at the south meadow, so called, below the furnace; and
also part of that lot of meadow which our s'd father formerly bought
of Ichabod Bartlett, which part of said lot of meadow lyeth on the
northwest side of the brook, called Mahutchet Brook, which said lands
and meadows are lying and being in the township of Plimpton, aforesaid,
wherefore wee have now by mutuale agreement divided said land
and meadows between us as followeth: Namely, we do mutually agree
that the said Stephen Tilson shall have a certain parcel of said homestead
land and meadow that is to say all that part, thereof, which
lyeth there adjoining together, both upland and meadow, on the westerly
side of the highway, as said way is now traveled, excepting a
small parcel thereof which is hereafter in this agreement set forth
by meats and bounds unto the aforesaid Samuel Tilson; and also the
said Stephen Tilson to have one other parcel of said homestead, being
the easterly part thereof, which is bounded as followeth: Beginning
at the red oak tree marked, which is the northwest corner bound of
John Tilson's, and from thence ranging north twenty-one degrees and
a half; westerly thirty-one poles, and a half to a stake standing on a
hummock by a stump in a swamp, and from thence ranging north
fifty-three degrees and a half; easterly thirty-four poles and a half
to a stake with stones about it, standing on the northerly side of a
cartway, and from thence on the same course about three poles and a
half near to Isaac Nye's land, and so to include all that part of said
homestead which lyeth there adjoining together on the easterly side of
said ranges, which said two parcels of s'd homestead as above described,
we do mutually agree shall belong unto the said Stephen
Tilson and his heirs and assignes forever. And we do mutually agree
that the said Stephen Tilson shall have all the aforesaid part of that
lot of meadow which our aforesaid father formerly bought of Ichabod
Bartlett, which part of said lot lyeth on the northwest side of the
afores'd brook called Mahutchet Brook, and we do mutually agree that
the said Samuel Tilson shall have a small parcel of land and orchard
being part of the aforesaid homestead which lyeth on the westerly side
of the highway, (being that which is about excepted out of what was
set of to Stephen Tilson), and is bounded as followeth: Beginning at
a stake and stones standing about two poles to the northeast of
