William H. Tilson of Texarkana, Texas, was born in Washington
Co., Va., 1837; his boyhood days were spent on the farm. He graduated
at Mossy Creek College, East Tennessee, June 1, 1859, and migrated
to Texas the same year. He served in the Confederate army
in the war 1861-65; began the practice of law in 1865 at Boston, Bowie
Co., Tex. He has been Justice of Peace, County Attorney; a member
of the 13th Legislature of Texas in 1873. In 1879 was elected state
Senator of Texas for a term of four years. He was the Democratic
nominee. In his law practice he has been successful. He died Oct.
6, 1909.
