I just happened upon your site and find it fascinating. My family emigrated from Wales in the 1950's and ended up in Quebec, where the name Spooner is extremely rare. In fact, the only other family I know is French speaking. There is a tiny community known as Spooner Pond about an hour from my home, but the family it's named after is long gone. The story is that it was a Loyalist family that moved there just after the American Revolution. I have no idea if my family is in any way connected to yours, but it's fun to see your photos. Thanks for your efforts.

I read your query re: Quebec Spooner Family with interest. My husband is descended from the Ralph Spooner, Loyalist that you refer to. Glad to share my research if you are interested.

Ralph Spooner was my fith great grandfather, I would love to get ahold of any imformation about him, especially anything to do with his involvement in the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. Is there any way that you could share any info with me?
