Hello there my name is wayne spooner and i live in warwickshire, I have just stumbled across this site and it set me thinking, I can only trace my heritage back to my grandfathers father, His name was William spooner he didnt know his parents as he grew up in an orphanage in norfolk somewhere? he joined the army when he was old enough and saw action ( probably the boer war) whilst on leave in london he met his wife to be and bought himself out of the army and settled in london, got married and and had my grandad ( born in 1909 and still with us) my grandad had brothers and sisters but he was the only one who had a son , My father and i was my dads only son and i now have just the one son, be intereasting to know if any one called spooner fled the norfolk area around 1875 and had to leave a son behind, maybe more than one or some sisters, I dont think he spoke much about his childhood so there is not much to go on, I do know there is a place called spoonerville and spooners row in norfolk, maybe my son is the rightful air to this parish, nice dream but i doubt it, intereastingly i have an excellent photo of my son , myself, my father and grandfather all together, Four generations there cant be many of them about,
