Message:
i have heard that the name spooner could of derived from the term "spaner", a name given to people connected with horses. does anyone else know of simular links? with regard to the crest show in spoonergen.com , i have seen a motto attached to one version "nier timid, nier fiece". i would be interested in feedback on this topic. and a big hi to all other fellow spooners :-)

well i have heard that the name Spooner derives from the word Spohner (Spohn, Is a wooden shingler for roofs) Spohner means shingler
motto " Conceal what is best"

Spohn is an ancient AngloSaxon/Danish/Jute word
and since the original Spooners are English and the English being AngloSaxon DanishJutes Normans yeah it makes sence.
