Message: Wow what a lot of Spooners! I am descended from George Spooner who lived in Hetton-le-Hole in the UK. Anyone else know of this branch?

Message: I know that my Spooner ancestor, John, moved from Colchester, England to Amsterdam. His widow and sons then emigrated to the American colonies. I imagine your ancestor must have been Thomas Spooner, of Warwickshire, to whom our lovely (!!) family crest was awarded.
...Seriously, have you seen the crest? It's hideous!

Message: My great grandfather was a George Spooner from somewhere in the UK. He emigrated to Australia and Changed his name to Brown to avoid conscription.

Message: hi my uncle George Spooner did emigrate to Australia in the 1960s he did not change his name to brown from what i can remember he was Chief controller of melborne Airport he has 2 children who are now grown up, and the last time i saw him was when he returned home for the funeral of his mother Leona

Message: Wayne, Your uncle is my uncle too! I'm Jim's daughter (but no longer a Spooner). Last time I saw Uncle George was at Grandma's 80th birthday party. He flew all the the way over from Oz to be with her.
