Russell Edward Spooner

Russ's interests include working in his vegetable garden, flying (he earned a commercial pilot's license in the 1940's, and he had acrobatic training), playing chess, caring for the animals at a local shelter and writing.

Russ authors a column for the local "Rehoboth Reporter", writes a regular column for a monthly magazine (circulation 5,000), has published more than 165 poems, several short stories, and is working on his third novel. His poetry has been published in several small-press journals and two anthologies, and two of his stories have found a home in a series of text books designed to teach reading to the learning impaired.
